Homework- When Working Tough Worked For Me

Hey there,

One of this week’s homework tasks was to write a blog post or a reflective piece in our journal- “When working tough worked for me…”

One was about 3 years ago when I got chosen for a football squad of 33 called zone but they had to narrow it down to 22 players to get into that I had to put a lot of effort in to it I had to give it my all to get into the final 22 players.

Another task was when we did a team challenge called the balloon blow. You had to try to keep the billon up in the air for the longest by blowing the balloon up into the air with your breath and my team had to work really tough to win and we did the longest we kept it up in the air was around about 15secs. We were out of breath by the end we were all dizzy.

I will Know when I have succeeded in 2010

Hi

I will know when I have succeeded when I have completed the High Flyers (with honours). I will do this by :

• Complete all of the four terms high flyers and at the end of the year get the High flyers With Honours
• Completing homework on its Due date and keeping diary to a good standard
• Be prepared for all lessons at school and finish all tasks set

By the time I  have completed these goals I will have done all the 18 L.N.P.S qualities to a good standard. Then that will lead me to become a High Flyer With Honours.

Year 7 jumpers

Hi everyone, Its simesy14

I can’t wait for our year 7 Jumpers to come. We are hopfully going to get the after our camp at aldinger Beach On Monday till Friday.

Resently at our school we have had  construction going on the buildings that we are building  are a new libary and about 6 new class rooms it is hopfully going to be done before I leave this school to go to high school.

“Star Review”

Recently I was lucky enough to view the short film “star”. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and stars his then wife Madonna as the soilt and demanding star with  a very bad attitude. For example when she demands her coffee: I WANT MY COFFEE NOW” said in a bossy tone. This film also features clive Owen as the cool, calm and collected driver. There are some unexpected events like when the car drifts around the corners and when they are finally at the venue, he opens the door while the car is still moving and the star flys out of the car. You wouldn’t even know that it is a commercial for the car company BMW! I think this film is a must see, because it is funny and is very suprising!

Inquiry Reflection

Hi guys,

For the last 5 weeks we have been working on Why is the world coming to Adealide? Inquiry task. We got put in groups of 3 or 4 randomly picked by the hat . In my group I had MFS11, jay225   and vic101. In the process I learnt how to unpack history and how to put together a persons life story. We also went to the migration Museum In Adelaide, Sa. It was a very interesting experience when my class and I went to the migration museum. It was a very interesting inqiury task and  I would definatley do it again it was that fun.

Migration Museum Class Exscurtion

Hi guys,

Today my-self and my class went to the Migration Museum in the city of Adelaide. We learnt about past history, refuges and immigrates. Refuges, are people from another country like Africa of China that have no choice to come to Australia or a different country because, at the time they came to Australia in their country there might of been a Civil War or the country might be poor. An immigrant is someone that comes to Australia or goes to a different country as a settler. While my-self and my class was there we all were in a group and we had to make out the life story of that person that our group got given. The person that my group had was Wol Mobia I think that was what his name was he was born on the 1-1-1979 so that means he is 30 years old he arrived in Melbourne airport in 2004 some time when he was 25 with his brother and cousin. He comes from Sudan in Africa he moved to Australia because there was a war going on in Sudan at the time he moved to Australia when he was living in Sudan he lived with his mother, father, brother and I think his cousin. Wol now goes to Mount Carmel College in Adelaide at the age of 30. Now he lives in peacefully in Australia with no war.

What evidence is there that other cultures have made their home in Adelaide?

Hi it’s Simesy14,

Well today I am going to tell you why. Adelaide is heavily populated with different cultures.

You can yell if you see someone from a different culture they might have a different appearance to Australian people, they also might do different event, they might have a different clothing, they might eat differently and they speak differently.

A long time ago when you went to go and by so food from a corner shop you could only buy fish ‘n’ chips, pasties, pies and sausage rolls. But now you can buy a variety of foods like Chinese foods or even foods from Afghanistan.

There are also some reasons for why they came to Adelaide or Australia because the World War could of  been taking place in their country, there could of been bombings of  houses, cars or ever hotels.                            

Well I hope you now know if you see a person from a different culture when you are walking down the street or in the city.
